Bollywood star Salman Khan has been approached by producers to act as
main villain in the Zanjeer sequel, in which Ram Charan Tej is playing
the lead role.
The original role was done by yesteryear villain of hindi films, Ajith, who played the role Teja with ease.
Already Sanjay Dutt was asked to play Pathan Sher Khan, who is a friend of hero in this flick.
Salman has been riding high on successful movies like Wanted, Ready, Dabangg, Bodyguard and would like to experiment now, instead of remaking yet another south indian movie.
Ajith is still-remembered for his iconic one-liners like “Saara shehar mujhe loin ke naam se jaanta hai” in Kaalicharan and his “Mona darling” in Zanjeer.
Who delivers better one-liners today than Salman Khan?
Whether it’s “Ek baar maine jo commitment kar di….” or “Ek ehsaan karnaki mujhpe kabhi ehsaan mat karna,” all his one-liners have made an impact on his fans.
Ajith’s villainy had a flair, flamboyance and panache that only Salman can recreate.
With plans for a remake of Zanjeer in the pipeline, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to fill it with the right cast.
