Chiranjeevi resigns to state assembly

Tirupati MLA K.Chiranjeevi resigned to andhra pradesh state assembly today after he got his official letter for Rajyasabha membership.
He submitted his papers to Speaker Nadendla Manohar.
Chiranjeevi was elected in may 2009 general elections on his own Prajarajyam party ticket and later merged his party into congress party during august 2011.

When a Telugu Desam MLA Revanth Reddy asked him to get an useful portfolio at centre which can benefit the state, chiru said “Nothing is in my hands. Whatever I get in the Congress party, I am okay with it.
Due to this resignation, this summer session has been chiru’s last assembly session, for which he did not attend during past few days.
Few ex-PRP MLAs were present to give him a farewell at assembly.

Chiranjeevi will be taking oath as a member of parliament’s upperhouse on 3rd april 2012.
He is also expected to be included in union cabinet during its expansion in may.
